PhD · LPC-S · NCC · Texas Woman's University · RYT-200 · EMDR Trained

Professional Background

I have extensive experience providing mental health care across diverse settings and populations. As both a clinician and educator, I integrate research, teaching, supervision, and direct practice to support healing and professional growth. My clinical work emphasizes understanding clients within their relational, cultural, and systemic contexts, recognizing that meaningful change happens when care honors identity, values, and lived experience.

Commitment to Latinx/Latine Communities

I am deeply committed to serving the Latinx/Latine community through culturally affirming therapeutic practices. My work centers on:

  • Cultural humility and responsiveness — Honoring cultural values, beliefs, and traditions
  • Bilingual services — Providing care in both English and Spanish
  • Understanding systemic and contextual stressors — Including acculturation stress, intergenerational dynamics, and identity-related challenges
  • Community connection — Building trust through authenticity, respect, and relational care

I am intentional about creating a safe, welcoming space where clients can explore their experiences, strengthen relationships, and heal without judgment.

Therapeutic Approach

I integrate evidence-based and culturally responsive approaches, tailoring treatment to each client's goals and lived reality. My approach includes:

  • Relational and systemic therapy — Understanding individuals within family and community contexts
  • Trauma-informed care — Recognizing how past experiences shape present patterns
  • Strengths-based practice — Building upon resilience, resources, and existing capacities

Therapy is collaborative, intentional, and grounded in respect for each client's pace and process.

Why I Do This Work

I believe everyone deserves access to mental health care that honors who they are. For too long, Latinx/Latine communities have been underserved by traditional mental health systems. My mission is to help bridge that gap by providing care that is not only clinically effective, but culturally meaningful.

As both a clinician and educator, I am committed to supporting healing at the individual and family level while also training future counselors to provide ethical, culturally affirming care. This work is not just my profession, it is my passion and my calling.
